Components and Their Functions
Adjusting the Sound
The VOLUME, TURNOVER FREQUENCY, and PHASE controls allow you to adjust
the sound in accordance with the room acoustics, the subwoofer location. Please
adjust the controls so that you get optimal sound at the room location at which
you normally listen.
1. Adjusting the Volume
Adjust the volume by turning the VOL-
UME dial. Adjust so that you get a good
balance with satellite speakers.
2. Adjusting the Turnover Frequency
Use the TURNOVER FREQUENCY dial to
adjust the cutoff frequency (the highest
frequency reproduced by the subwoofer).
Again, adjust so that you get a good bal-
ance with satellite speakers. Appropriate
adjustment depends on the type of the
sound you are reproducing (musical
genre, movie soundtrack, etc.).
3. Switching the Phase
Try switching the phase if you encounter
either of the following problems.
• If the interaction of subwoofer and speak-
ers is producing an unnatural bass.
• If the bass volume at the room location at
which you normally listen seems unnatu-
rally low, possibly as a result of the room
acoustics or the positioning of the subwoofer.
