into RUNNING MODE. 2nd to 4th lines are displayed as
the items are selected.

[BACK] and [EXIT] keys are valid until a RUNNING MODE
item is selected.

After an item is selected, [BACK] and [EXIT] keys are in-
valid. This condition is cleared by turning the power OFF
(Clear by ACC OFF/ BATTERY OFF).

Execute DVD running mode 1~6. (Refer to the following
DVD mechanism running mode list.)
2nd line display: DVD MODE 1~6
3rd line display: Display Arg 5,6,7 (BCD) of the Unit request
(running status) received from DISC module in 6 digits.
4th line display: Display Arg 2,3,4 (HEX) of the Unit request
(running status) received from DISC module in 6 digits.

• Running mode 1 and 2 tests only loading and ejecting of
disc.
• Running mode 4 does not include ejecting. 1 cycle con-
sists of accessing outer circumference
→
accessing in-
ner circumference.
• Running mode 3 tests disc loading, ejecting, and play
back.
• Running modes 5 and 6 tests and checks disc loading,
ejecting, play back, EEPROM operation.
• Mechanism error means an error at the time of loading
and/or ejecting.
• Disc error is an error at the time of disc play back.
• Feed error is an error at the time of feed operation.
• EEPROM error is an error at the time of EEPROM opera-
tion.
• Stop at the time of error is the mode where the operation
stops immediately after an occurrence of an error without
retrying.
• Retry at the time of error is the mode where normal op-
eration retry is executed after the initial error, and if the
error persists, the operation stops.
