400-Hour Inspection 
 
Perform the following inspection on your engine at the 400-hour interval. 
 
 

WARNING:

  Make sure key is not in ignition and no electrical equipment is 

energized prior to any engine check or operation. Do not energize engine prior to 
performing the following steps. 

 

Open engine hatch cover and let compartment air out for ten minutes or more. 
Make sure that no electrical equipment is energized 
Change engine oil and filter. 
Check coolant level Make sure fluids are at the proper levels. 
Check for oil, coolant, and fuel leaks, Correct any leaks prior to proceeding further. 
Check charge and fluid level of battery. Inspect connections for corrosion, and clean as 
necessary. 
Clean crankcase vent system PCV valve. 
Check air cleaner Make sure that it is cleaned replaced as necessary. 
Inspect the exterior of the heat exchanger clean if necessary. 
Check alternator  
Lubricate throttle linkage. 
Remove and replace fuel filter. 
Remove, clean, adjust, test, and/or replace spark plugs. 
Check for loose bolts, nuts, or any loose pieces. 
Start bilge the blower, let the blower run for 10 minutes.  
Run the bilge pump to remove any excess bilge water.
