- Never stand higher than on the fourth rung from the top of the ladder.
- Do not stand on the ladder for a long time without taking breaks regularly
(tiredness entails risks).
- Prevent transport damage, for example, by laying down the ladder properly.
- Only use a ladder that is suitable for the job.
- Do not use a ‘dirty’ ladder e.g., soiled by wet paint, mud, oil or snow.
- Do not use the ladder during bad weather, such as during high winds.
- A risk analysis according to the applicable legislation of the country in which the ladder is used professionally must be carried out.
- During positioning the ladder, consider the risks of collusions e.g., by pedestrians,
vehicles or doors. If possible, secure windows and doors (except emergency exit doors)
in the work area.
- Use non-conductive ladders for unavoidable work on electricity.
- Do not modify the design of the ladder.
- Do not move the ladder with someone standing on it.
- Always place ladders on their feet and not on a rung.
- During work activities, always keep both feet on a rung of the ladder and always face the ladder.
