4.4 The gears
●
The product has 3 hub gears.
4.5 To change the gear
●
Do not force the gears.
●
Only change gear when the pedal cranks and the wheels
of the product moves forward.
●
Do not pedal backwards while the gear is changed.
1
Turn the shift lever to change gear. The engaged gear
is visible in the indicator next to the shift lever. (Figure
10)
Note!
Change to a lower gear before you stop. It is easier to
start in a low gear.
5 Maintenance
To make sure that the product is safe to use, only use
original spare parts when you replace parts that are
applicable for safety.
●
Let an approved service center do service to the product
every 6 months. Do service on the product more often if it
is necessary.
●
Make sure that all screws are correctly tightened and that
the wires are installed correctly to the frame and not
damaged after adjustments are made.
5.1 To clean the product
●
Clean the product regularly.
●
Clean the product with a mild detergent. Do not use
degreasing products that can penetrate the bearings and
chain or interfere with the lubrication.
5.2 To lubricate the chain
The chain should be lubricated at regular intervals. If the
chain is dry, it can rust and get damaged.
1
Lubricate the chain with applicable chain oil.
2
Move the pedal a few turns, to let the chain oil go into
the links.
3
Wipe the chain with a cloth.
Note:
Do not apply any chain oil on the brake pads or on
the rims.
5.3 To do a check of tires and rims
●
Regularly examine that the spokes are correctly
tensioned and that the wheels are not deformed.
●
Do a check of the wear line on the side of the rim. The
wear line indicates the wear from the brakes. Replace the
rim if the wear line no longer is visible.
●
Do a check of the air pressure in the tires at regular
intervals. Refer to the side of the tire for the correct air
pressure.
●
Regularly do a check that the tires are not damaged.
●
Do not let the tire touch oil, petrol, paraffin or agents that
can cause damage to rubber.
●
Make sure that the tires are centred between the forks.
5.4 To adjust the chain
Note!
If the chain can be moved more than 1 cm up or down,
tension the chain.
1
Loosen the nuts on the rear hub axle slightly.
2
Pull the rear wheel rearward to stretch the chain.
3
Make sure that the rear wheel is straight. Fully tighten
the nuts on the rear hub.
4
Make sure that the chain has the correct tension and
that the wheel is installed correctly.
Note!
The chain must not be over-tensioned, make sure that
you can move it up and down.
5.5 To adjust the brake lever
The brake must apply full power when the brake lever is
pushed halfway. The brake must not press against the rim
when the brake lever is not pressed. The handle must not be
pressed fully to the handlebar.
1
Turn the adjusting sleeve in the brake lever to
increase or decrease the movement of the brake
lever. (Figure 11)
2
If larger adjustment is needed, release the wire lock
on the brake arm. Move the wire to the necessary
position and fully tighten the wire lock.
3
To replace the brake wires, refer to a service center.
5.6 To adjust the brake arm spring
tension
The spring tension prevents that the brake from touching the
rim when the brake lever is released.
●
Turn the adjusting screws on each side of the brake with
a suitable screwdriver until the arms move in parallel.
