Read all the instructions before you begin your build. You will need a clean
workspace and it should be well lit.
1. Un-box your new Katana K250 and note the various parts. Be aware that
there are many small parts that can be easily misplaced or lost. Small
Cupcake pans make great storage areas for small parts.
2. Lets get started. Locate the 4 motors, 4 quad arms, screw kit, and carbon
fiber base plate, (heat shrink wrap sold separately and optional)
3. Mount each motor to the arms with the motor screws provided. Do not
over tighten but use some blue thread lock on each screw. This will insure
that the screws on the motor don’t loosen or back out due to any
vibrations. When you are done you should have what is shown in image 1.
Repeat 3 more times for each remaining motor.
4. Remove the nylon washers from the main power distribution board
packaging. Image 3. The Power distribution board (PDB) is shown in
image 6. Remove the supplied hex screws and lock nuts from the
package. Place a screw through each arm hole in the base plate and
place the mounted motor arm over the plate and screws as shown in
image 5 and 6. Note
…
you may want to use tape to keep the screws in
place while you are working. Also, the CW motor mounts to the forward
right mounting point (Pilots front right) and the CCW motor mounts to the
left rear mounting point (pilots left rear). The remaining two arms mount to
front left and rear right.
5. Place a nylon washer over each screw and arm section. See image 5.
