To prevent data loss, do not attempt to insert or remove a memory card
or power down the computer while the Card Reader is transferring data.
The LED indicator will blink when data is being transferred to and from
the Card Reader.
To safely remove a memory card.
1. Make sure the LED indicator is not blinking.
2. In My Computer, right-click on the drive containing the memory
card. A menu appears.
3. Select “Eject” from the menu (see
fig 10
).
4. Remove the memory card from the Card Reader
To prevent data loss, do not attempt to disconnect the Card Reader while it is transferring data.
The LED indicator will blink when data is being transferred to and from the Card Reader.
To safely disconnect the Card Reader from the computer:
1. Make sure the LED indicator is not blinking.
2. Left-click on the “Safely Remove Hardware” icon in the task bar.
A menu appears listing all the removable hardware connected to your computer.
3. Select “Safely Remove USB Mass Storage Device” (see
fig 11
). The “Safe to Remove
Hardware” balloon appears. (see
fig 12
).
4. Disconnect the Card Reader from the computer.
Correctly insert a memory card into its corresponding slot. Only one memory card can be inserted in a slot at one time.
Warning:
To prevent data loss, handle memory cards by the plastic housing. Avoid touching the metal contact pins. Inserting memory cards
incorrectly can cause damage and data loss. Do not use excessive force when inserting a memory card.
