Replace Wheels
Preparation
Preparations must be made before replacing wheels.
−
When a tire is damaged, park the vehicle as far away from
traffic as possible. The ground should be level.
−
Ask all the passengers to get off the vehicle. Leave the
dangerous area immediately after getting off the bus (for
example, go behind the highway guardrail).
−
Make sure that the front wheels are facing straight ahead, then
operate the
parking brake
, and change the gear to
1st gear
or
R gear
to prevent the vehicle from moving by itself
inadvertently.
−
If the vehicle travels with a trailer: Separate the trailer from
your car.
−
Take the tool kit out of the trunk.
Warning !
If the vehicle stops in a flowing carriageway due to tire
damage, the hazard emergency device must be turned on and
the warning triangle sign must be placed. This can protect
both yourself and other road users.
If necessary, appropriate wheel blocks can be used to prevent
inadvertent movement of the vehicle, and must be used on
slopes.
