FIELD OF APPLICATION/OF OPERATION
•
Use the appliance for domestic purposes only and in the way indicated in these
instructions.
•
This appliance is intended to be used for domestic applications and similar
applications such as:
o
Kitchen corners reserved for personnel in shops, offices and other
professional environments.
o
Farms.
o
The use by clients of hotels, motels and other environments with a
residential character.
o
Environments of the “bed and breakfast” type.
BEFORE THE FIRST OPERATION
For the perfect taste, operate the jug kettle with fresh water in order to clean any residue
left from the manufacturing process. When the appliance has cooled down, repeat the
process 3 times with fresh water, before rinsing.
OPERATION
•
Always remove the jug from the power base before filling it or before any operation.
•
Open the lid and fill the jug with fresh water, paying attention not to fill under the
minimum mark and above the maximum mark on the water level indicator.
•
Close the lid by pressing it down until you hear a click. Make sure it closes correctly.
•
Put the jug onto the power base, plug into the wall socket and switch on. The pilot light
will come on, indicating that the appliance is operating. If it does not come on, check
if the kettle is correctly positioned on the base and check if the base is plugged in.
•
The jug kettle will switch off automatically when the water is boiling. However, you can
stop the appliance any time by putting the switch in the off-position.
•
For instant re-boiling, wait until the water has cooled down and switch on the
appliance again.
SAFETY CUT-OUT
•
This jug kettle is protected with an automatic safety device which switches the
appliance off when it is accidentally switched on without water. Please bear in mind
that only the thermostat is switched off in case of overheat, whereas the switch stays
in ON-position.
•
In this case, unplug the appliance and wait about 10 minutes for the element to
cool. Then pour in sufficient cold water to cover the element.
•
The kettle may then be used as normal.
