Prior to using your lighting unit, please read these instructions care-
fully. Keep them safe to have them at hand at any time. If you pass 
the lighting unit on to somebody else, always include these instruc-
tions. 

1. Intended use

 

The RB 5970 UV LED Lighting Unit is marketed for the purpose of 
illumination in UV and fluorescence photography. It is not intended 
for use in other applications. 

Use the lighting unit only as described in these instructions. Any 
other use has to be considered as not as intended and can result 
in material damage or physical injury. The lighting unit is not a toy. 

Kaiser takes no responsibility for damages caused by not intended 
or incorrect use. 

2. Safety instructions 

Please observe the following safety instructions: 

WARNING! 

Do not put the devices into operation, if housing, plug or cable is 
damaged. 

Disconnect the devices from the mains if not in use or before clean-
ing. Unplug the mains cables from the socket by holding it by the 
plug. 

Store the devices safely. Keep the devices away from children. 

UV-A radiation is not harmful to your health. However it is recom-
mended to wear eye protection glasses when exposed to UV-A for 
a longer time to avoid sign of fatigue. Do not look directly into the 
lights, when they are switched on. 

Do not disassemble or modify the devices. Repairs must only be 
carried out by qualified persons. 

CAUTION! 

Only use the devices with parts designed for them. 

The devices are for indoor use only. Keep them in a dry environ-
ment. 

Keep the devices away from water and other liquids and from com-
bustible materials. 

Make sure that the devices are not covered during operation. 

Do not use or store the devices at places with extremely high air 
humidity or at extremely hot places. Keep the devices away from 
direct solar radiation. 

Let the devices cool down before boxing them. 

3. Check devices and scope of supply

 

When unpacking the devices for the first time, please check if the 
scope of supply is complete. It comprises 

2 Lights (2) 
2 Fastening screws (7) for the lights 
4 Cable clips (1) 
2 Holding rods (3) 
2 Clamp bases (4) with fastening screw (9) 

Check also, if the devices are damaged by extraneous causes. If 
this is the case, do not take the devices into operation.

 

4. Assembly  

Assemble the lighting unit as shown on the pictures. 

Use the cable clips (1) to attach the cables to the holding rods (3). 

5. Initial operation 

Make sure that the mains voltage corresponds to the operating 
voltage given on the type plates of the lights (2). Connect the lights 
to the mains and then switch on the lights with the switches (5). 

The brightness can be adjusted continuously with the control dials 
(6). For reproducible results, there is a scale on the control dials. 

When not in use, switch off the lights with the switches (5) and dis-
connect the lights from the mains by pulling out the mains plugs.  

6. Adjustments 

See fig. (D) to (F). To adjust the lighting unit, release the respective 
locking screw (7), (8) or (9) and tighten it again. 

7. Maintenance and care 

The devices are maintenance-free.  

Clean the devices with a soft dry cloth. On no account use petrol 
or other solvents.
