KABI Rotary Pump
Please read and save these instructions. Read
carefully before attempting to assemble, install,
operate or maintain the product described.
Protect yourself and others by observing all safety

DESCRIPTION
This KABI Rotary Rotary Pump is commonly used
for dispensing or transferring diesel oil, heating oil,
lubricating oil, engine oil, gear oil, hydraulic oil and
other non-corrosive fluids compatible with pump
materials of construction.
The pump is designed to deliver 38 L/min at 135 RPM.
This pump is a self-priming unit. The pump is supplied
with a 2” BSP (M) bung adapter designed to fit most
50-200 L drums.
This pump is not suitable for use with gasoline,
water-based liquids and alkaline liquids.
UNPACKING
When unpacking the unit, inspect carefully for any
damage that may have occurred during transit.
Check for loose, missing, or damaged parts. Transit
damage claims should be made to the shipping
company.

WARNING
Never use the pump for pumping liquids like
gasoline, alcohol, acetone, thinners, acids or any
other flammable or explosive liquids. Any use of
the KABI Rotary Pump with these liquids, as well as
using the pump in work areas with any flammable
or explosive liquids, can cause serious bodily injury
or death and/or cause property damage.
ASSEMBLY AND INSTALLATION
1. Screw discharge spout into the pump body outlet
using Teflon tape or equivalent sealant tape. Do not
use paste pipe sealant.
2. Slide the handle over the handle shaft and
assemble to the crank arm using a hex nut. Attach
the entire crank arm subassembly, including
handle, handle shaft, and hex nut, onto the pump
shaft taking care to align set screw to indent in the
rotor shaft.
3. Thread suction tube into pump body inlet using
Teflon tape or equivalent sealant tape. Do not use
paste pipe sealant.
4. Thread bung adapter assembly into drum.
5. Insert pump and suction tube assembly into bung
adapter and hand-tighten bung adapter set screw.
Be sure to set pump and suction tube assembly so
that the suction tube is at the desired depth in the
barrel and is not blocked.
OPERATION
1. Check hoses for weak or worn conditions before
each use, making certain that all connections are
secure.
2. To begin pumping fluid, rotate handle clockwise
several times making complete revolutions until
fluid begins to flow. Several revolutions will be
made with no fluid dispensed as pump needs to
prime. Once primed, fluid flow begins as handle is
rotated.
3. For siphoning or draining fluid back into barrel,
place handle in the straight down position.
4. To stop siphoning and maintain suction or prime,
leave handle in horizontal position.
Regularly check pump and suction tubes for leaks.
Leaks in the suction line or in pump housing will cause
inefficient pumping and loss of prime.
