Front panel
1 STANDBY indicator (22)
Lights in red when the power cord is connected and
the unit is on standby. When the unit is turned on,
the STANDBY indicator goes off.
2 STANDBY/ON
button (22)
Turns the unit on or off (standby).
3 Remote sensor (19)
Receives signals from the remote control unit.
4 Disc tray (22)
Used to load a disc.
5 0 (OPEN/CLOSE) button (22)
Used to open and close the disc tray.
6 PROGRESSIVE indicator (15)
Lights up when the Progressive scan mode is active.
It lights in green during playback of a film-source DVD
VIDEO disc when PROGRESSIVE MODE in
PREFERENCE 1 is set to SMART, FILM or AUTO.
In other conditions when the Progressive scan mode is
active, it lights in red.
7 Display window (8)
Indicates the current status of the unit.
8 4/¢ (SKIP) buttons (24, 43)
Used to skip a chapter, title or track. Also, used for
the page selection of a menu screen (for Video CD/
SVCD).
Holding down4 or ¢ during playback reverses or
advances playback rapidly (except MP3 disc).
9 7 (STOP) button (23, 43)
Stops playback.
0 3 (PLAY) button (23, 43)
Starts playback. Also, used as a SELECT button for
PBC of Video CDs/SVCDs.
- 8 (PAUSE) button (23, 43)
Pauses playback. Also, used to display nine
continuous still pictures (STROBE function).
