You may have experiences where you could not sing in
the middle of a KARAOKE song because you forgot the
melody, etc. In such cases, by using the vocal replace
function, the guide vocal automatically replaces your
voice when you stop singing. It may be useful for
practicing KARAOKE.

During playback, when the KARAOKE function is active

Press DISPLAY.
The KARAOKE menu appears on the TV screen.
If the disc is recorded with the multiplex audio, set
[KARAOKE SOUND] to L or R for playing back the
guide vocal.
If the disc is not recorded for KARAOKE, set
[KARAOKE SOUND] to L+R (See page 48 and 49).

cycles the mode as follows.

cycles the mode in reverse
order.
• The recorded voice (guide vocal) is played back only when
no sound is fed to the microphone(s).
NOTES
• To turn off the KARAOKE menu
Press DISPLAY.
• If [KARAOKE SOUND] is set to L or R, the vocal mask
function does not work correctly.
• With some materials, such as those recorded in
monaural and sung by multiple voices, the voice may
not be satisfactorily masked.
