CORRECTIVE ACTION
Set the clock and/or timer correctly.
Press
TIMER
and check to make sure
that

appears on the front display
panel.
Re-perform the set-up procedures.
Make sure you have compensated for
Guide Channel and VCR or cable
box channel number mismatches

Timer programming can’t be performed
when timer recording is in progress.
Wait until it finishes.
VHS deck
Load a cassette with the Record
Safety tab intact, or cover the hole
using adhesive tape.
DV deck
Load a cassette with the erase
protection switch set to "REC".
Remove the cassette and cover the
hole with adhesive tape, or insert a
cassette with the Record Safety tab
intact.
Remove the cassette and set the erase
protection switch to "REC".
Check the programmed data and re-
program as necessary, then press
TIMER
again.
The program may not have been
recorded in its entirety. Next time
make sure you have enough time on
the tape to record the entire program.
SYMPTOM

The loaded cassette has had its
Record Safety tab removed.
●
DV deck
The loaded cassette has had its erase
protection switch set to "SAVE".
●
TIMER
has been pressed when there
are no programs in memory, or the
timer record program information
has not been programmed correctly.
●
The end of tape was reached during
timer recording.

"SOUND MODE" on the DV Mode
Set Menu had been set to "48kHz" at
the original recording.

The tape speed had been set to LP at
the original recording.

This is normal.
●
The memory backup time has
expired.
●
This is normal.
CORRECTIVE ACTION
Set "SOUND MODE" to "32kHz" at
the original recording (
Z
pg. 33).
Set the tape speed to SP at the
original recording.
Monitor the sound using the
connected devices.
Perform Random Assemble Editing
again.
