Setting to the Manual Focu s mode
Press AF/MF to display the Manual Focus icon ( MF ).

Set the [FOCUS/ZOOM] ring s witch to FOCUS.
Doing so ena b les you to use the manual ring of the lens
as a focus ring.

Turn the manual ring to adju s t the focu s .
Using the Focus Assist function on the right helps to
ena
b le easy focusing.
U s ing the Focu s A ss i s t Function
This feature temporarily switches the screen to b lack-and-
white, and adds color to the contour of the focused image.

There are two ways to activate the Focus Assist function.
A
S et [FOCU S A SS I S T] in the [CAMERA PROCE SS ] menu
to [ON]. ( A Page 59)
Or
B
S et [U S ER1], [U S ER2], or [U S ER 3 ] in the [CAMERA
S ETTING S ] menu to the Focus Assist function, then
press the corresponding U S ER b utton. (

S et the [FOCU S A SS I S T] menu to [OFF].
Or

S ER b utton that is assigned the Focus Assist
function.
Memo :

To change the contour color, use the [FOCU S A SS I S T
COLOR] setting in the [CAMERA PROCE SS ] menu.
(BLUE, GREEN, RED)
When using the Focus Assist function at a dark place, the
point where color is added may appear grainy, making the
contour color unclear.

When [DI S PLAY ON TV] in the [CONNECTION
S ETTING S ] menu is set to [ON], the Focus Assist display
is output on the external monitor. S et [DI S PLAY ON TV] to
[OFF] to clear the display on external monitors.
