2 Preparation
‘Hot water’ , hot water flows into the cup. Preparation stops
automatically when the preset amount of water is reached.
‘Please select product:’ appears on the display.
The professional steam lance on your GIGA has a temperature
sensor. In programming mode you can specify the temperature of
the milk or milk foam when the machine prepares
‘Steam’ (see
Chapter 4 ‘Permanent settings in programming mode – Expert
mode’).
At the top of the professional steam lance there are two positions to
choose from:
U
Top position: Froth milk
U
Bottom position: Heat milk
There are two ways of preparing steam:
U
‘Steam (continuous)’
U
Steam is dispensed from the professional steam lance until
it is cancelled by pressing the Rotary Switch
k
or the ‘ ’ but-
ton.
U
‘Steam’
U
Steam will continue to be dispensed until the milk tempera-
ture specified in programming mode is reached.
Danger of scalding from hot steam.

Avoid direct contact with the skin.
Example: Proceed as follows to prepare ‘Steam’ at the preset tem-
perature.
Precondition: ‘Please select product:’ is displayed.

Fill a receptacle with milk, place it under the professional
steam lance and immerse the steam lance in the milk.

Press the ‘Steam’ button.
‘Steam’ and the temperature are displayed. Hot steam is dis-
pensed from the steam lance. Preparation stops automati-
cally when the preset milk temperature is reached.
