Setting Up Your NSM4000 Appliance

This section provides the minimum information necessary to make your NSM4000
appliance active on the network.

To log in and set up your NSM4000 appliance:

Enter

admin

as your default login name.

Enter

abc123

as your default password.

Change your default password when prompted. Enter the default password first,
followed by your new password.

NOTE:

All passwords are case-sensitive.

Enter the IP address for the interface eth0.

NOTE:

The ports

3/2/1/0

in the NSM4000 appliance are used as interfaces

eth0/eth1/eth2/eth3, respectively.

Enter the subnet mask for the interface eth0.

Enter the default gateway address for the interface eth0.

Figure 14 on page 43

is an example of how to set up the NSM4000 appliance.
