Identifying the parts of your Judge Kettle
(with Part Numbers for customer replaceable items)
Before first use
1. Remove any labels and/or swingtickets.
2. Wash the inside of the Kettle Body
with liquid detergent and warm water, rinse
well and dry.
3. Wipe the outside of the Kettle Body
, Lid
and Filter
with a cloth, using
liquid detergent and warm water.
■
DO NOT IMMERSE ANY PART OF THE KETTLE IN WATER.
4. Ensure that the Filter
is inserted inside the Kettle behind the Spout
, sliding
it downards until you hear a click.
5. Follow the “How to use” instructions to boil the maximum amount of water, then
discard the water.
6. Repeat step 5 above.
How to use
Cleaning & Care
■
Allow the Kettle to cool completely
before cleaning.
1. Wash the inside of the Kettle Body
and Filter
with liquid detergent
and warm water, rinse well and dry.
■
The Filter
can be removed for
cleaning by gently pulling it upwards.
2. Wipe the outside of the Kettle Body
and Lid
with a cloth, using
liquid detergent and warm water.
■
DO NOT IMMERSE ANY PART OF THE
KETTLE IN WATER.
■
Do not use harsh abrasive cleaners,
metal objects or a brush with metal
bristles.
■
When the Kettle is not in use, store in
a dry place.
■
Descale the Kettle regularly using
suitable appliance descaler, available
from all good multiples. Follow the
directions given on the packet.
■
To minimise scale build-up, empty the
Kettle and rinse it thoroughly after
each use.
1. Position the Base
on a level and
stable surface; unwind the Mains
Lead
from the Cord Storage
situated in the Base
to achieve
the optimum length: please read the
CAUTIONS on siting and connecting
to your mains electricity.
2. The Kettle should be filled by removing
the Lid
by pulling it upwards.
3. Fill the Kettle as required - never less
water than the Minimum (MIN) level
shown, or more than the Maximum
(MAX) level on the Water Level
Indicator
.
4. If the Lid
has been removed,
replace it by pushing gently down until
it clicks into place.
5. Return the Kettle to the Base
.
6. Plug the Mains Plug
into a mains
power socket and turn the socket ON.
7. Turn the Kettle ON by moving the On/
Off Switch
downwards to the “
l
”
position - the Switch
will illuminate
blue while the Kettle is heating.
8. The water will boil and the Kettle will
turn OFF automatically. The Switch
will return to the “
O
” position and
the blue light will extinguish.
9. The boiling sequence of the Kettle
can be interrupted at any time
by moving the On/Off Switch
backwards to the “
O
” position.
10. Switch off the mains socket and
remove the Mains Plug
.
11. Pour water from the Spout
of the
Kettle, as required.
■
TAKE CARE WITH VERY HOT
WATER.
■
Once the water has cooled, it can
be reheated by pressing the On/Off
Switch
. This will not function
while the water is still hot.
■
THE KETTLE HAS OVERHEATING
PROTECTION, WHICH WILL
AUTOMATICALLY SWITCH IT OFF.
HOWEVER, YOU SHOULD TAKE
CARE NOT TO ALLOW IT TO BOIL
DRY.
