DVN 5000 Server
Perform the following tasks after the drywall dust has cleared and every 6 months
thereafter:
Task

1.
Visually inspect all cable terminations (BNC, network, SCSI
device, etc.). Tighten mounting screws.
2.
Inspect the DVN for infiltration of dust or moisture.
3.
Remove the filters and drives and clean with a vacuum or
compressed air.
4.
If possible, restart system and ensure correct start-up and
operation.
5.
Check for noisy drives and fans in the DVN and rack.
6.
Perform full unit test of operational functions, including
recording and playback.
7.
Check the RAID drive LEDs for any data drives that may be
in a critical state or that have failed. The log file will show
critical RAID drives. Replace these drives.
8.
Review the log file for specific errors.
9.
Check for viruses and run a cleanup tool.
10.
Check the air temperature of the DVN server’s exhaust.
Exhaust temperature must be less than 95
º
F (35
º
C). The
audible alarm will sound if too hot.
11.
Check the storage settings for any issues.
12.
Back up the DVN’s configuration settings onto a Flash drive
and leave it at the site.
13.
Replace all 4 data drives
and the system drive
every
3 years.
Cameras
Task

Visually inspect the Camera Assembly Exterior. It should be
sound and have no signs of water infiltration or damage.
2.
Inspect the Mounting Bracket, if applicable. Operate the
Pan and Tilt Unit. Check condition of all mounting points.
3.
Secure all relevant cable entry locations and verify they are
free from foreign objects.
