●
5. Fixing the safety device
The safety cleat (fig 5) is designed to fit onto an adjacent surface or next to the
blind to eliminate free hanging cords.
How to fix
A. Place cleat on an adjacent wall or where the cleat is to be fixed so that the
cords can’t be easily reached by children, but still accessible to adults.
B. Screw the cleat in place.
C. Wrap the cord around the cleat in a figure of eight after each operation.
Ensure cords are inaccessible to children.
●
6. Care and maintenance
The cords on the back of the blind are connected to the blind with child safe breakaway connectors.
In the unlikely event where the cord pulls free from the connectors, it is ver y easy to reconnect the
cord by simply pushing the clips back together.
The acorn is also designed to split if a force is applied, just push them back together to reconnect.
Use a dr y cloth or duster to clean the blind. A slightly damp cloth can often be used to remove light
marks. Remove any insects with a sticky tape.
Blind fabric can be removed for professional dr y clean only. The fabric is attached to the headrail with a
fixing strip. To remove, simply disconnect the cords from the child safe breakaway connectors at the
back and remove from headrail. All the bars can be removed by sliding them out. To reattach the blind,
simply fix the top of the blind to the headrail ensuring a straight finish. Then reconnect all the child safe
breakaways by pushing the clips back together. Remember to replace all the bars.
WARNING!
Please read all safety warnings and installation information fully before installation.
Young children can be strangled by loops in pull cords, chains, tapes and inner cords that
operate the product. To avoid strangulation and entanglement, keep cords out of the
reach of young children. Cords may become wrapped around a child’s neck. Move beds,
cots and furniture away from window covering cords. Do not tie cords together.
Make sure cords do not twist and create a loop. The safety clips should be
positioned high enough to be out of reach of small children yet accessible to
adults. All safety clips for blinds need to be fixed to a solid surface using a
screw and fixing suitable for the wall or surface material. These items should not be glued or
stuck in place. The head rail shall not be installed less than 1.5m from the floor.
