①
Safety advice – Please note:
1.
Do not use any rechargeable batteries or mains adapter for powering.
2.
A loud and shrill test tone will sound during the signal horn test. Keep a safety
distance of 50 cm between your ear and the heat detector.
3.
Heat detectors should not be painted.
4.
The heat detector should not
be placed at the following locations:
a.
Near fire places
b.
In areas with temperatures lower then –10°C or higher then 60°C
c.
Near air-conditioner or air circulation units
d.
In tapered ceilings
e.
Keep at least 50 cm away from all light fittings
f.
The heat detector
HDv 300X TS
is only approved for indoor use
5. The underlined waste container on the reverse side of the product is an advice
not to dispose the heat detector in the domestic waste.
③
Product characteristics
HDv 300X TS
Battery powered, radio connectable heat detector for detection and alarming in domestic
and small system applications.
•
A visual and auditable low battery condition is signalled for 30 days
•
The acoustic alert is made by an integrated piezo alarm-sounder (min 85 dB)
•
The LED conductor pole is used as “Alarm-Mute-Test-Button”
•
The heat detector
HDv 300X TS
is equipped with an Alarm Memory function.
The function indicates a local fire alarm within the last 24 hours
•
Radio communication to further heat detectors is possible with an optional radio
module 868 MHz (Order No.: 30933) or to a radio- fire control panel (Order No.:
32487) with the optional radio module 433 MHz (Art.- No.: 32488)
•
The heat detector can be connected to an EIB or provide external
signallers via the optional radio-module (Order No.: 30942)
•
The pack includes the heat detector with base, one battery, two screws with
anchors for mounting and this manual.

Installation and commissioning:
1.
Choose the installation location (room ceiling is recommended):
a.
Best location in the centre of the room, min. 50cm space to the nearest wall.
b.
Minimum space to nearest lamp 50 cm.
If using the adhesive pad: check the surface of the ceiling to make sure that the
adhesive pad sticks tightly to it.
2.
Keep a minimum distance of 50 cm from all conducting electrical cables.
Make sure that there are no electricity cables at location.
3.
Make sure not to pollute the heat detector when drilling the holes
(*if installing the heat detector with an adhesive pad see chapter 13 "Optional
Accessories").
4.
Drill two 6 mm holes (with a gap of 67 mm if using two screws)
(You can use the detectors base as a hole template).
5.
Place the included raw plugs into the drill holes.
6.
Tighten the heat detector base with the included screws to the ceiling.
7.
Connect the battery (watch the polarity) and place it into the intended bracket of
the heat detector.
8.
Attach the heat detector to the base and tighten it by turning the heat detector
clock wise. (Only possible if a battery is installed).
9.
Check if the heat detector LED flashes.
10.
Check the functionality of the sounder by pressing the test LED conductor pole for
at minimum one second.
11.
A warning beep sounds if the heat detector is operational. If no beep sounds then
the heat detector is not functional. In this case check the battery and replace it.
If still no alarm sounds after pressing the test LED conductor pole again then the
heat detector is defect and needs to be exchanged.
④
Place of installation:
The heat detector performs best when installed on the ceiling in the centre of the room.
this is not possible, ensure the heat detector is at least 50 cm from the wall.
This heat detector has been developed to detect a fire in humid or damp rooms.
Apartments which are already equipped with a smoke alarm device can be additionally
furnished with a heat detector in 50cm distance for maximum protection.
⑤
Adhesive pad:
The heat detector base can be attached to the ceiling via one or two included screws
and anchors or with the double sided adhesive pad (Order-no.: 32587). Check the con-
dition of the corresponding surface before fitting the heat detector to assure a firm hold.
Check the surface condition of the ceiling before use of the double sided adhesive pad.
It must be suitable for durable bonding and bearing strength (test bonding if necessary).
Pull off the protection film on one side of the pad and stick the pad tightly to the centre
of the heat detector base. Next remove the film of the other side, tighten the heat
detector base firmly to the ceiling and continue as described in chapter 2 step 7.
