1 Safety related information
The following safety rules must be respected so as to ensure maximum
safety of the personnel when using this measuring device:
1. Do not use the device if the power or test cords appear damaged, or in the
case of abnormal functioning of the device.
2. Using the device for high industrial voltages is not recommended; thus it is
not suitable for measurements of line voltages of 440 V or 600 V AC. This
device is designed to be used with low current circuits up to 1000 V DC or
750 V AC or high current circuits of up to 250 V AC or DC. The accidental
use of the device on a high voltage power supply with high current when it is
configured for milliampere measurements could be very dangerous.
3. Switch off the circuit to be tested before opening, unsoldering or
disconnecting it. Low intensity currents can prove to be dangerous.
4. Take great care when working with voltages greater than 60 V DC or 30 V
AC RMS, which can cause electrical shocks.
5. When using probes, keep your fingers behind the safety guards provided.
6.Measurements of voltages exceeding the limits of the multimeter can
damage the device and expose the user to risks of electrocution.
Systematically observe the voltage limits of the device indicated on its front
face.
