4 Mounting and installation of the JVM-407B
Ignition - Switch-off delay
After switching off the vehicle's ignition circuit, specific components of the
vehicle should remain energized for a specific length of time. Only after this
time has elapsed, the power supply of these vehicle components should be
de-energized automatically.
The program of the JVM-407B defines the duration of the switch-off delay.
The illustration shows the wiring for the switch-off delay (as viewed from the
cable side): By means of the external diode the JVM-407B is able to detect
whether the IGNITION is ON or OFF. This is a special use case. There is also
a number of applications not requiring a diode.
