Replacing Mechanical Seals

How to replace a mechanical seal (B2i version)
Important!
The pump must be disconnected electrically to make sure that the motor
does not start unintentionally.
a)
Loosen cap nuts

Remove spacer bolt

from spiral casing

and casing flange

c)
Pull away casing flange

and spiral casing

towards the front.

Unscrew impeller cap

.
Caution!!! Left-hand thread.

Remove safety pin

f)
Unscrew crown nut

(left-hand thread)
and remove washer

.
g)
Push impeller

smoothly towards the front using two assembly levers.
h)
Remove mechanical seal

now visible with two srew drivers towards the front.
i)
Push back-plate

with counter-ring flange

out of spacer

using two
assembly levers.

Loosen screws

at counter-ring flange

Push counter-ring of mechanical seal

from rear out of counter-ring flange

.
For reassembly proceed in reverse order.
During disassembly please check the following:
- Has shaft protection sleeve

been damaged?
- Has the seat of counter-ring flange
12
been damaged?
- Have other components been damaged or are they worn out?
All o-rings should be replaced when assembling a dismounted pump.
