3. Close the Upper Transport Unit by pressing
downward until it “clicks” into place, and ensure
that both sides are tightly closed and locked in
place.
This completes the Reference Paper Placement Pro-
cedure.
Calibration Using a PC
The following two (2) ways to calibrate a VEGA
Unit using a PC exist:
•
VEGA_Adjustment.exe: Calibration without
writing a Serial Number into the Unit.
•
VEGA_Adjustment_Zero.exe: Calibration by
writing a Serial Number into the Unit, setting the
Standby LED Pattern Color and clearing EEPROM.
Use the VEGA_Adjustment.exe to perform normal
adjustment procedure.
VEGA_Adjustment.exe Program Use
To use the VEGA_Adjustment.exe Program,
proceed as follows:
1. Copy the VEGA_Adjustment.exe Program into
the PC Folder.
2. Turn the VEGA Unit power
OFF
.
3. Confirm that the interconnection for performing
the VEGA calibration with the PC (
ure 6-2 and Figure 6-13 for the necessary
Tool and Harness Connections and USB
Cable Requirements
).
4. Set DIP Switch Block DS1 Switches #1, #2, #3
and #5 to
ON
(Figure 6-18).
5. Turn the VEGA power
ON
. The Front LED will
slowly flash at a
Green
Color rate.
Set DIP Switch Block DS1 Switch #1 to
OFF
. The
Front Panel LED will begin to flash in a
Cyan
,
White, and
Blue
Color sequence.
6. Launch the VEGA_Adjustment.exe Program. The
VEGA Adjustment Screen (Figure 6-19) will
appear when the application is active.
7. Click on the “Start”
Button (Figure 6-20
a
) to
begin the Entrance Sensor Adjustment Procedure.
8. When the Entrance Sensor Adjustment is com-
plete, the White Reference Paper Placement
Request Dialog will appear (Figure 6-21).
Set the White Reference Paper in place (See
“Reference Paper Usage” on page 6-4) and click
on “
Yes
”

NOTE: The Serial Number of the
VEGA is factory installed, however,
Serial Number identity is not retained
when the CPU Board is replaced.
Depending on Interfaces set, the
performance of the VEGA may stop
when the Serial Number is not set. The
VEGA_Adjustment_Zero.exe
calibration is required to set the Serial
Number into the VEGA Unit.
