hex head screws (12) on bottom two holes with 5/16” flat washers (14) and 5/16”
flange nuts (11) as shown.
3)
Assemble lower frame pipe (4) to rear frame (2) using quick release pin (16).
Assemble upper frame pipe (3) to goal ring weldment (1) using hex head bolt
5/16”-18 x 2 ½” (13), 5/16” washer (14) and 5/16” flange nut (11): see Detail A.
NOTE: The quick release pin (16) may be replaced by a bolt connection for a more
permanent attachment: see Detail C.
4)
Loosely thread hand knobs (7) with ½” jam nuts (10), ½” flat washers (18) and
goal adjuster mounting L-Tabs (17) into place as shown in Detail B. With the
help of an assistant, place assembled unit onto permanent goal. Engage lower
frame pipe (4) into upper frame pipe (3) as shown in illustration and tighten with
wing bolt (9). Secure unit into place as shown in Detail B and tighten fully with
hand knob (7).
IMPORTANT NOTE:
KEEP THE UPPER AND LOWER FRAME PIPES (3 & 4)
JOINED TO THE GOAL RING WELDMENT (1) AND CONNECT THIS
ADJUSTABLE BRACE TO THE REAR FRAME (2) USING THE QUICK RELEASE
PIN (16) PROVIDED. NOTE THAT FOR GOAL HEIGHTS FROM 7 ½’ FT TO 9’ FT
THE LOWER ANCHOR POSITION ON THE REAR FRAME IS USED. FOR GOAL
HEIGHT OF 7’ FT (THE LOWEST HEIGHT), THE UPPER ANCHOR POSITION ON
THE REAR FRAME IS USED. USE THE ADJUSTABLE BRACE TO LEVEL THE
BACKBOARD AND GOAL.
NOTE:
THE UPPER FRAME PIPE MUST BE DISCONNECTED FROM THE
LOWER FRAME PIPE SO IT CAN BE INSERTED THRU THE TOP OPENING OF
THE EXISTING GOAL, THEN RECONNECTED AND TIGHTENED IN PLACE
WITH THE WING BOLT (9). USE THE UPPER AND LOWER FRAME PIPE TO
LEVEL THE BACKBOARD AND GOAL WITH THE PLAYING SURFACE.
CAUTION: DO NOT ALLOW ANY PLAYER TO HANG FROM OR SLAM
DUNK ON THIS GOAL. THIS IS DANGEROUS AND THE EXTRA WEIGHT
MAY DAMAGE THE EQUIPMENT.
CAUTION: HAND KNOBS MUST SAFELY SECURE THE UPPER FRAME
ASSEMBLY TO YOUR EXISTING BASKETBALL GOAL. THE POINT OF
THE HAND KNOB MUST CONTACT YOUR GOAL BENEATH THE WELDED
SUPPORT FLANGE OR THE GOAL RIM IN ORDER TO PROPERLY LOCK IN
PLACE. FAILURE TO SECURE THE HAND KNOBS IN POSITION COULD
ALLOW THE UNIT TO FALL DURING USE. CHECK THIS ASSEMBLY
CAREFULLY.
