3.1.3 Align holes in blade and drive ram (item
69).
3.1.4 Install two (2) socket head cap screws (item
77) and two (2) lock nuts (item 70) to fasten
blade.
Be sure to firmly tighten screws and
lock nuts.
3.2 HEAVY DUTY / CENTER GUIDED BLADE
(item 93 or 95):
3.2.1 Slide slotted end of blade (item 93 or 95)
into the guide in the end of blade support
(item 92 or 94).
3.2.2 Push blade onto tongue on blade support
(item 92).
3.2.3 Align holes in blade and drive ram (item
69).
3.2.4 Install two (2) socket head cap screws (item
77) and two (2) lock nuts (item 70) to fasten
blade.
Be sure to firmly tighten screws and
lock nuts.
4 BLADE SUPPORT DISASSEMBLY:
4.1 Remove two (2) acorn nuts (item 47), lock
washers (item 59), flange head screw (item 56)
and blade support bushings (item 57).
4.2 Remove blade support (item 90, 92 or 94).
4.3 Inspect parts for wear and replace if necessary.
5 BLADE SUPPORT ASSEMBLY:
5.1 Reverse the steps and procedures outlined in
step 4. See notes below.
5.1.1 Ensure that holes in gear housing (item 58)
and blade support (item 90, 92 or 94) are
aligned.
5.1.2 Blade support bushings (item 57) are a close
fit to gear housing (item 58) and light tap-
ping with a mallet may be required to install.
6 SER 200/400 DISASSEMBLY:
6.1 Remove two (2) each brush covers (item 9),
brush holders (item 11) and brushes (item 12).
6.1.1 Mark brushes so they can be returned to the
same holder and same position to maximize
life.
6.2 Remove two (2) oval head screws (item 49) and
hanger bracket (item 50).
6.3 Turn saw upside down and rest on motor cover
(item 6).
6.3.1 Assembly fixture,
Jarvis
part number
8039075, is available to hold saw upside
down.
6.4 Remove six (6) flat head screws (item 81), six
(6) serrated lock washers (item 80), bottom cov-
er (item 79) and gasket (item 78).
6.5 Scoop out grease and discard.
6.6 Remove two (2) upper hex head screws (item
76) and lock washers (item 75) from front of
saw.
6.7 Remove six (6) cheese head screws (item 66),
six (6) lock washers (item 65) and two (2) bear-
ing clamps (item 64).
6.8 Grasp bushing (item 71) and gear (item 87) and
lift entire lower mechanism (items 60--77 and
83--88) out of gear housing (item 58) as a unit.
6.9 Turn saw right side up.
6.10 Remove four (4) pan head screws (item 5).
6.11 Lift off motor cover (item 6).
6.12 Remove rear motor cover (item 7) by pulling
straight up.
6.12.1
Do not pry
between the rear motor cover and
motor housing (item 13).
6.13 Remove two (2) oval head screws (item 27).
6.14 Lift off rear handle (item 26) and motor housing
(item 13) together as one unit.
6.15 Lift off air ring disk (item 18).
6.16 Pull armature (item 17) out of gear housing
(item 58).
6.17 Drive gear (item 20) may be unscrewed from ar-
mature shaft.
6.18 Inspect parts for wear and replace if necessary.
7 SER 200/400 ASSEMBLY:
7.1 Reverse steps and procedures outlined in step 6.
See notes below.
7.1.1 After assembling motor ensure that arma-
ture rotates freely by hand.
Do not apply
power to a binding armature.
7.1.2 Pack teeth of gears (items 20 and 87) with
grease.
7.1.3 After installing lower mechanism in hous-
ing ensure that armature rotates and linkage
slides freely by hand.
Do not apply power to
a binding mechanism.
7.1.4 Reinstall brushes in the same brush holder
and in the same position from which they
were removed.
