Installation and Instructions
1.
Remove the outer fairing clamshell completely.
2.
Unplug the spade wire connectors on the back of each of the
stock speakers.
3.
Remove the grill/speaker assembly (all together) by
unscrewing the three attachment screws and one nut, on each
side of the fairing.
4.
Place the assemblies on your work bench and remove the
speakers themselves from the plastic grill assemblies.
Note:
Save the speaker attachment screws. They will be re-used to
attach the J&M 7.25” speakers.
5.
Peel off the fabric grill work from the front of each plastic
speaker adapter and replace this fabric grill with the new plastic
grill with mounted tweeter, positioned so that the tweeter
connection wire is located in the exit groove in the new grill.
6.
Re-install both left and right grill assemblies back into the
fairing using the original hardware.
7.
Using the 5/8” long screws provided, install a J&M speaker
adapter with the side of the adapter marked “TOP” positioned
upward on both the left and right grill assemblies already installed
in the fairing.

8.
Using the original speaker attachment screws saved from
step 4, install a J&M 7.25” speaker with the speaker’s spade
terminals pointing inward, onto both the left and right J&M
speaker adapters.

9.
Connect the wires from the grill mounted mid-range speaker
and tweeter to the correct spade terminals on the back of the
7.5” speaker.

10. Then connect the terminals from the stock wiring harness to
the back of the speaker.

11. Test each speaker for the proper operation before re-
assembling the fairing, realizing that full sound quality and fidelity
will NOT be heard until the outer fairing shell is completely re-
installed.
