The magnet used is 25% thicker than
conventional for this type of driver.
The reason for this, is that we wanted
to use a 15 mm long 2 layer voice coil
to achieve higher maximum sound
pressure level and reduce distortion
caused by unlinearities in the motor
system.
This new high flow design secures less
turbulence and compared to a normal
port, it allows 5 dB higher SPL before
port noise occurs.
It is recommended to use the spikes
provided. These ensure that,
regardless of the base, the loudspeaker
will stand steady with a good mechanical
contact to the base.
If the base is hard (for instance wood or
stone), the rubber feet provided may
be mounted.
NOTE : When spikes are fitted on the
loudspeaker, never drag or push it
across the floor, as this is likely to dam-
age both carpets and floorboards.
