Setting the date
Crown A
Turn the compression key to the “open” position in the direction of the arrow.
Then pull crown A out to position 2.
Move the date forward by turning the crown anti-clockwise. Perform the re-
quired number of turns until the desired date is displayed.
Note: date correction should not be performed between 10.30 p.m. and 3.30
a.m. During this period the automatic date-change mechanism is already in
action.
When the operation is completed, push the crown back to position 1 and turn
the compression key to the “closed” position in the direction of the arrows.
Operating the chronograph
The central seconds hand on the Master Compressor Extreme World
Chronograph displays the chronograph seconds to the nearest eighth of a sec-
ond. A counter located at 3 o’clock tallies the minutes up to 30 minutes (after
one revolution it will start counting another 30 minutes). Another counter at 9
o’clock tallies the hours up to 12 hours (after one revolution it will start counting
another 12 hours).
- Push-piece at 2 o’clock: this push-piece starts and stops the chronograph
function.
- Push-piece at 4 o’clock: this push-piece resets the counters and the central
seconds hand. When timing is in progress, pressing this push-piece has no ef-
fect.
Each of these two push-pieces features a wing-nut with a patented com-
pression system. This enables additional compression of one of the three push-
piece gaskets, to ensure optimum water resistance.
Another advantage of this system is that it enables the push-pieces to be locked
in the “closed” position, thereby preventing any unintentional operation of the
chronograph.
To use the chronograph functions, move the push-pieces into the “open” posi-
tion by turning the wing-nuts a quarter-turn downward for the push-piece at 2
o’clock (for starting and stopping) and upward for the push-piece at 4 o’clock
