- Setting the travel time-zone and date – main dial
The Duomètre à Sphérotourbillon watch has a “travel
time-zone” hour display (main dial positioned at 3 o’clock).
If you want the “travel time-zone” main dial at 3 o’clock and the
24-hour “reference time-zone” subdial at 12 o’clock to indicate
the same time, proceed to the step involving:
Synchronising the reference time-zone (24-hour subdial) and
the travel time-zone (main dial)
Return the crown to position 2. Adjust the travel time-zone
(main dial at 3 o’clock) in one-hour increments until it matches
the time shown on the 24-hour dial; the date will automatically
follow the time setting. The two dials (indicating the time in the
reference time-zone and the time in the travel timezone) now
show the same time. They are synchronised.
If you are travelling and wish to adjust the time on the main
dial to the time in the local destination, or if you have set
the reference time on the 24-hour subdial to a time diffe-
rent from your local time, proceed to the step involving:
Setting the time and adjusting the date of the travel time-zone
(main dial)
When you wish to change the time and date of the travel
time-zone (main dial), pull the crown out to position 2. Pro-
ceed to set the time and adjust the date of the travel time-
zone. The time-setting is done in one-hour increments, and the
date automatically follows the time adjustment.
Small seconds flyback system
The Duomètre à Sphérotourbillon features a unique small
seconds flyback system (subdial at 6 o’clock). The latter ser-
ves to reset the small seconds to zero by means of a push-
piece (located at 2 o’clock), thereby ensuring extraordinarily
accurate time-setting on stroke of the hour.
Pressing the push-piece at 2 o’clock brings the hand of the
small seconds display (subdial at 6 o’clock) back to zero
before instantly resuming its path. This function serves to
ensure time-setting of the timepiece on the stroke of the hour,
thereby enhancing the precision of the watch. This function
may also be used for short-time measurements (under 60
seconds). Also note that, thanks to the patented Dual-Wing
system, the escapement continues running during the small
seconds “flyback” operation.
