3.12 FRONT REEL LIMIT SWITCH ________________________________________________
The front left and right lift arms are equipped with proximity
switches, which signal the controller to turn off the reels.The
switches are mounted to the mower frame directly behind
the lift arms. If reels continue to run when lifted, or do not
run when lowered, inspect switch. Adjust or replace switch
as needed.
To adjust switch:
1.
Park mower on a flat, level surface.
2.
Remove reel from lift arm.
3.
Turn ignition key to the RUN position to activate
controller. Do not run reels or start engine.
4.
Adjust switch as required to obtain air gap between
switch and arm of 1/8 in. to 3/16 in. (3 to 5 mm).
5.
Lift arm manually until it is at an angle of 17°.
6.
With lift arm at 17°, adjust switch
(I)
up or down, until
switch contacts close. Secure switch in this position.
7.
Repeat procedure for lift arm on opposite side.
8.
Start engine and check that reels turn off when raised.

3.13 WING REEL LIMIT SWITCH

The left and right wing lift arms are equipped with reed
switches which signal the controller to turn off the
corresponding reel.The switches are mounted to the wing lift
arm mounts near the lift arms. If reels continue to run when
lifted, or do not run when lowered, inspect switch. Adjust or
replace switch as needed.
To adjust switch:
1.
Park mower on a flat, level surface.
2.
Remove reel from wing lift arms.
3.
Turn ignition key to the RUN position to activate
controller. Do not run reels or start engine.
4.
Add or remove shims as required to obtain air gap
between switch and arm of 0.090 in. to 0.120 in. (2 to
3 mm).
5.
Lift left wing arm manually until it is at an angle of 15°.
6.
With lift arm at 15°, adjust switch
(I)
up or down, until
corresponding lamp on controller goes out (#16 for
L.H, #19 for R.H.). Secure switch in this position.
7.
Repeat procedure for right wing lift arm.
8.
Start engine and check that reels turn off when raised.
Note
:
The reed switches set the point where the reels
turn off, not how high they will raise. The reels will raise
to a position above 15°
.
