Doorbell mode
After pressing a doorbell button, the UC-260 will play a preselected
melody. Different melodies can be assigned to each doorbell button, if
desired. If you want to change a melody, enter programming mode
(see section “Enrolling Additional Devices”) and press the button until
the desired melody is selected.
Detector-chime mode
If an enrolled detector is triggered, the UC-260 will play a pre-
selected melody. The melody can be changed if desired (see section
“Enrolling Additional Devices”).
A detector enrolled to the UC-260 can be simultaneously enrolled
to a JA-63 or JA-65 control panel. This way, for example, a wireless
door detector can activate a chime on the UC-260 and at the same
time trigger an alarm.
Notes:
1/ The JA-60P motion detector has a special sleep mode feature
(settable to 5 min. or 1 min.). Therefore it cannot detect more frequent
movements in a covered area.
2/ The JA-60SP, JA-60SR fire detectors and JA-60G cannot be
used for chime mode.
Wireless siren mode
If an alarm control panel is enrolled to the UC-260, the UC-260’s
light indicator shows the status of the PgY control panel output. If an
alarm is triggered, the UC-260 siren sounds. An ARM and DISARM
chirps can also be indicated. It can be set in two ways:
1. When a control panel is enrolled for the first time and one beep is heard, then
no chirps will be performed by UC-260.
2. When two beeps are heard, than both ARM and DISARM chirps will be
performed by the UC-260.
You can toggle between these two settings each time you enroll the
control panel to the UC-260 (entering a 299 code while in service
mode).
Alarm mode
The UC-260 can be used as a simple stand-alone wireless
alarm. This mode can also be combined with the doorbell mode.
To set the alarm mode,
enter programming mode first. Then
press and hold both (A+B or 1+2) buttons of the RC-40 for 3 sec.
This RC-40 will be then used for arming and disarming the alarm.
You can add more remote controls later. Up to 8 detectors, remote
controls or doorbell buttons can be used in alarm mode.
Operating the alarm
If you press the A button on the remote control, you will arm the
alarm
. For delayed JA-60 detectors, a 15 second exit delay will be
provided. Optionally, beeping can be used to indicate an exit delay.
If you press the B button on the remote control, you will disarm
the system
.
If you activate a delayed-mode detector when the alarm is
armed
, you will first hear entrance delay beeping (15 sec.).
If the alarm is not disarmed within the entrance delay,
the siren
will sound for 3 minutes. You can stop the siren by pressing the B button
on the remote control.
Exit and Entrance delay indication
The above description corresponds to the factory default setting of
the UC-260. It can be changed using an enrolled RC-40 remote control
while the UC-260 is in programming mode.
•
Press the A button – the alarm will indicate the exit delay but not
the entrance delay, detectors trigger a chime sound when the
alarm is armed. (
Factory default setting)
•
Press the B button – the alarm will not indicate exit and entrance
delay. Detectors trigger a chime sound when the alarm is armed.
•
Press both buttons – the alarm will indicate exit and entrance
delays and the first enrolled detector (enrolled before the RC-40)
activates the chime function.
Note: Alarm mode cannot be selected if a JA-63 or JA-65 control
panel has been enrolled.
•
If you need to replace batteries in a detector, it is necessary to
unplug the UC-260 first. Otherwise opening the cover of a
detector will trigger a tamper alarm.
