RANSPONDER

ONFIGURATION
The configuration MMI software is installed on the workstation and can be connected to
the transponder by two ways:
•
Internal serial link (request the opening of the transponder)
•
External serial link (option –R)
Refer to section VI for the detail of the configuration.

ESCRIPTION
The internal battery pack is designed for standard primary battery cells. It comprises:
Main Parts
•
3 parallel banks of 6 D-size (LR20) Alkaline cells in series (Lithium as an option)
•
One of 9 V motor backup Alkaline battery (model 6LR61)
•
A double spring system without any welding of the cells
The replacement of Alkaline cells by Lithium cells (and the opposite) is straightforward and
does not require any hardware modification.
The assessment of lifetime and energy absorption includes some margin for energy
capacity dispersion of the battery cells and losses over the lifetime.

However the operator must always allow an additional safety margin of error in
operation calculations.
In Table 1, are listed the autonomy values depending on the two different types of
batteries and the different transmitted signals.
