Assembling the handle [F2]
(GTE-300)
∙ Secure insert the motor frame (5) into the main
frame (15) at the position, make the two parts meet
tightly.
Adjusting the head of motor frame (9) [F3]
(GTE-500)
∙ Press the head adjusting button (10).
∙ At the same time, rotate the head of motor frame
(9) in the position you want.
∙
Release the adjusting button (10) and the head of
motor frame (9) will be properly adjusted.
Adjusting the telescopic pipe (12) length [F4]
(GTE-500)
∙
Press the pipe button (11), then push or pull the
telescopic pipe (12) at the length you want.
∙
Release the pipe button (11) and the telescopic
pipe (12) will be properly adjusted at the length you
had selected.
Adjusting the auxiliary handle (4) [F5]
(GTE-500)
∙ Rotate and loosen the knob (25).
∙ Adjust the auxiliary handle (4) in the direction you
want to use it conveniently.
∙ Turn the knob (25) back and lock the auxiliary
handle (4).
Using the cord restraint (14) [F6]
∙ Before connecting the mains cord to the mains
supply, make sure that the extension cord is located
through the cord restraint (14). This will prevent undue
pressure being put on the cord connections and is an
important safety device.
Assembling the safety guard (6) [F7]

trimmer from the mains before making

WARNING! Take care against injury
from the blade fitted on the safety
guard (6) for trimming the cutting
line to length. After extending a new
cutting line, always return the trimmer
to its normal operating position before
switching on.
∙ Put the safety guard (6) around the cutting head
(7), and let it contact the bottom of the head of the motor
frame (9) properly, then use the four safety guard fixing
screws (16) to fix the safety guard (6) securely.
INITIAL OPERATION
Always use the correct supply voltage: the power supply
voltage must match the information quoted on the tool
identification plate.
SWITCHING ON / OFF [F8]
Switching On
WARNING! Switch on motor only
when your hands and feet are away
from the cutting means.
CAUTION! Do not start the appliance if
it is standing in long grass.
∙ Hold the trimmer firmly and without letting it touch
the grass that has to be cut, depress the self-lock button
(1) and the on/off switch (2) at the same time.
Switching Off
∙
To switch off the trimmer, release the on/off switch (2).
CAUTION! The cutting head continues
to rotate after motor is switched off
for a few seconds! Wait until it has
stopped completly then lay down the
tool.
ATTENTION! The On/Off switch (2)
must not be clamped. The motor must
switch off after releasing the switch. If
the switch should be damaged, work
must not be carried out any longer
with the machine.
