System Maintenance
Intermittent (as required):
•
Be sure the photosensor is clean and free of debris.
•
Be sure the O-rings on the encoder wheel are present and not worn.
•
Be sure the nuts and bolts holding the bracketry in place remain tight.
Annually:
•
Replace encoder O-rings (5765-206).
•
Recalibrate Touch Screen.
General Maintenance:
•
Dust touch screen and keyboard with lint-free cloth.
•
Clean controller cabinet with cloth to remove dust.
•
Inspect print head assemblies and ink reservoir for leaks and wipe with lint-free cloth as
necessary.
•
Use the priming procedure to remove any dust or debris that might have collected on
the print head faceplate (see “Step 5: Priming the Print Heads” on page 12).
•
Inspect for broken or worn electrical connections.
•
Inspect guide box rails and print head bracket for wear.
•
Make sure the controller cabinet fan(s) are working and that they turn freely.
•
Have a qualified technician open the printer cabinet and inspect for dust. If necessary,
blow out dust with low-pressure air that is moisture- and oil-free.
•
Inspect the fan filter and replace if necessary. To replace the fan filter, simply remove
the louver plates on the outside side panels of the Marksman© Elite. The filter is
located under this plate. The fan filter can be cleaned with low-pressure air. For thor-
ough cleaning, clean with soap and water and allow to dry before re-installing.
•
With the printer off, make sure tie wraps securely hold all cables. Replace any missing
tie wraps or damaged cables.
