Application / Function
The ultego III flow sensor is used as a flow sensor for cal-
culators for heat or cold consumption recording in heating
systems with circulating water to AGFW (FW510). It is not
suitable for systems with water-glycol mixtures or drinking
water. The ultego III flow sensor consists of a flow sensor
(completely made of metal) and the corresponding mea-
surement electronics. These two components are perma-
nently connected together by a cable. The flow is
measured according to the ultrasound transit time princi-
ple: 2 ultrasonic transducers alternately transmit ultra-
sound waves in and against the direction of flow The
difference in measured transit time is used to calculate the
flow velocity and from it the flow rate and volume. Volume-
proportional pulses pass on this information to a connected
calculator.
Transport / reverse logistics
▪
You may only transport the ultego III flow sensor in its
original packaging.
▪
The battery has generally to be removed before return-
ing the meter by air freight.
▪
Depending on the valid transport regulations, the battery
voltage may also be separated by an insulating strip. In
thiscase, pull the strip out to activate the meter.
Storage / Disposal
▪
When it is time to dispose of the flow sensor it is waste
electronic equipment as defined by European Directive
2002/96/EC (WEEE) and may not be disposed of in
household waste. The corresponding national regula-
tions must be followed and the device must be disposed
of via the channels provided. Current local legislation
must be followed.
▪
Lithium batteries that have reached their end of life can
be returned to the manufacturer for proper disposal.
Please note the statutory regulations regarding the dec-
laration and packaging of dangerous goods when send-
ing the batteries.
Attention!
▪
The measurement electronics are mounted on a mount-
ing plate. The ultego III flow sensor must therefore al-
ways be picked up and transported by the threaded
connection and not the measurement electronics.
▪
The unit may only be mounted by authorized expert per-
sonell!
▪
The devices may only be installed and deinstalled in de-
pressurized systems.
▪
To change a meter, shut-off devices must be installed
upstream and downstream of the meter.
▪
Only use the meter under operating conditions as de-
scribed on the nameplate, otherwise risks can occur and
the warranty expires.
▪
Breaking the security stamp voids both the warranty and
conformity or calibration.
▪
Flash protection cannot be guaranteed. This must be
secured via the domestic installation.
▪
Observe the regulations for the application of heat me-
ters (see EN 1434, Part 6)! Cavitation in the system has
to be prevented!
