•
Adult PFDs in each cabin.
•
Lifesling on starboard cockpit rail.
•
Fire extinguishers located 1) in Salon hanging locker, 2) under Galley sink and 3) in after cabin.
•
Flashlights mounted at Nav Station and shelf near companionway ladder.
•
First aid kit (small) in starboard cabinet near TV and First Aid Kit (large) in emergency kit; emergency
flares, air horn spare tank, spare seacock plugs in “Emergency” plastic bin behind starboard salon
cushions; air horn in aft port cockpit lazarette locker. Primary seacock plugs located with thru-hulls
throughout the boat.
•
Carbon monoxide (CO) detector mounted on starboard salon handing locker.
•
Emergency tiller in starboard lazarette locker (rudder post access under the helm).
•
Manual emergency bilge pump located next to starboard helm; handle in aft starboard cockpit locker.
•
Secondary anchor & rode plus “polypro” stern tie line located in starboard lazarette locker.
Engine
•
Start
Visually inspect the engine at start of each day (use access door on the starboard side). Clean
water strainer as needed.
Confirm
red
engine battery switch in aft port cabin is “ON.”
Confirm throttle lever is in the neutral position (straight up and down).
Insert power key and turn switch to the right.
Press bottom
black
“START” button on engine control panel at port helm.
The engine should start immediately.
Check for water pumping out of exhaust.
Allow engine to run in Neutral for a few minutes to warm up before using.

Stop
Allow engine to run in Neutral for ~5 minutes to cool down.
Press
red
“STOP” button on the right to stop engine.
Turn “POWER” button until engine fan falls silent.
•
Never press the START button while the engine is running.
•
Never turn off the engine battery switch while engine is running.
Fuel
•
F
uel gauge (analog) on fuel tank behind access panel at the bottom of the companionway ladder. Fuel
tank capacity is 55 gal.; engine consumes ~1 gal/hr @2500 RPM.
•
Fuel filler cap located on the port side deck midship.
•
Fill slowly, do not overfill – at first sound of “gurgle” in fill pipe
STOP
, check gauge; tank should be full;
if not add more fuel slowly.
•
Plan a refueling stop at one of the fuel docks in the Islands once tank reaches ½ full.
Heads, Showers & Holding Tanks
•
Sinks & showers use fresh water; marine toilets use raw water.
•
Shower has a
sump pump
to drain water; breaker for the pump is on the DC electrical panel and
should be “ON” all the time. If the sump pump is not “ON” (automatic mode) the small holding tank
will quickly fill and cause flooding.
•
There is also a swim deck shower with hot & cold water, located below the starboard helm.
