2.4.1 PC
names
Each PC on your network is identified by its unique IP address (for more information see the
Ganymede822p User Guide section on IP addresses). Instead of having to remember every IP
address, you may find it easier to assign meaningful names to each of the PCs on your network.
You need to assign names to PCs if you want to enable common applications or create custom
applications. Any name that Microsoft Windows allows you to assign to a computer is also valid
here.
You can assign a name to each of the PCs on your network. You can then refer to them by name
instead of having to remember their individual IP addresses. You must assign names to your PCs
before you can enable access to common applications or create custom applications.
