Remove adjusting keys and wrenches.
Form a habit of checking to see that keys
and adjusting wrenches are removed from
the tool before turning it on.

Avoid unintentional starting. Ensure
switch is in "off" position when plugging in.

Use intended extension cords. When the
tool is used outdoors, use only extension
cords intended for outdoor use and so
marked.

Stay alert. Watch what you are doing, use
common sense and do not operate the tool
when you are tired or impaired.

Use proper extension cord
Make sure your extension cord is in good
condition. When using an extension cord,
be sure to use one that is heavy enough to
carry the current your product will draw. An
undersized cord will cause a drop in line
voltage, resulting in loss of power and
overheating. Table 1.1 shows the correct
size to use depending on cord length and
nameplate ampere rating. If in doubt, use
the next heavier gauge. The smaller the
gauge number, the heavier the cord.
