Rechargeable Counterweight Battery Pack
iOptron’s PowerWeight
TM
rechargeable counterweight battery pack is designed for using with
various iOptron mounts. It can be fitted onto a mount which has a counterweight (CW) shaft with
a diameter of 20mm or 28mm. Use this battery pack in place of your traditional CW, or as an
additional CW, and avoid long extension cords.
Inside the counterweight are 6 heavy duty spiral wound valve-regulated lead-acid (VRLA)
battery cells. The 8 amp-hour power pack provides power for operation of your telescope gear
out in the field.
The battery does not have a memory effect. An indicator light on the battery charger tells you
the battery charging status. RED indicates the battery is recharging and GREEN indicates the
charge is complete. The charging process should automatically stop when the battery is full.
Either socket on the power pack can be used for power drawing or charging. The extra socket
may be used for powering other device.

Operation:
1. Battery Charge and Care
Remove the battery from the shipping package. Inspect it carefully for any damage or
leakage. Full charge the battery with included battery AC/DC charger until the LED indicator on
the charger turn to green.
Disconnect the AC charging power before use.
Disconnect the battery from your mount after use.
Fully charge the battery before every use for the best performance.
