3.9 Remote
Figure 10 shows the DVR Express Core 2 MAX remote.
The remote is the same physical remote used to control the Flare 2KSDI and 4KSDI cameras. It is used
to control functionality of the SDI outputs when connected to a DVR Express Core 2 MAX. Note that
the cable required to connect the remote to the DVR is the female-to-female CABREMOTE3M and not
the female-to-male CABLEMO3M. The remote can be connected at any time to the DVR. Once
connected the red LED will flash indicating that a connection has been made and the remote is now
operational. See Table 15 below for a description of the buttons.
Button
Description
“A”
Changes the scaling of the currently selected SDI output. Switches between 1:1 and 50% frame scaling
(50% of the width and 50% of the height. E.g. 4096x2160 → 1920x1080).
“B”
Cycles through available SDI outputs.
“C”
Not implemented.
“D”
Not implemented.
Direction Arrows
When in 1:1 mode or when frame scaling mode does not produce an image smaller than the output video
format selected (default is 1080p) the direction arrows can be used to pan around the video.
Center
Turns on/off the currently selected SDI output. When the remote is first powered, SDI OUT 1 is the
selected SDI output. The LED indicator corresponding to the currently selected SDI OUT port will show
green when on and red when off (or disabled).
