External Wi-Fi/BT Antenna Port Specification (J3000, J3001)
Figure 12: WLAN/BT antenna connectors (J3000/J3001)
The Open-Q™ 605 SBC provides WIFI and Bluetooth connectivity via the Qualcomm
WCN3990 chipset. This provides 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac 2x2 MIMO, dual-band Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth
5.x. The 2x2 MIMO Wi-Fi requires two antennas for maximum throughput and operates at both
2.4GHz and 5GHz. Bluetooth uses only one of the antennas (CH0) and only operates at 2.4GHz.
To support full performance of the Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, two dual-band antennas are required. If
only Bluetooth is used, it can be supported with one single-band 2.4GHz antenna connected to the
CH0 port.
Table 3-19 below outlines the mating connector that can be used to attach an external antenna to
these 2 connector.

External GPS Antenna (J3100)
Figure 13: GPS Antenna Connector (J3100)
Similar to WLAN/BT connection, the Open-Q™ 605 SBC requires the use of an external active
or passive GPS antenna. To power an active antenna, a 2.8V bias is supplied on the GPS antenna
connector. Please select an active antenna that is capable of operating from a 2.8V supply. The
