operating range for the Kendrion INTORQ spring-applied brake

Degree of protection:
– The brake is designed for operation under the environmental conditions that apply to IP54 protec-
tion. If a fan cover is mounted to protect the brake from water jets, protection class IP55 can be
reached. Because of the many ways the brake can be used, it is necessary to check the functional-
ity of all mechanical components under the corresponding operating conditions.

– -20 °C to +40 °C (Standard)

The Kendrion INTORQ BFK458 size 06 to 10 spring-applied brakes described in these operat-
ing instructions may be used in normal operation in areas where there is
not expected to be
any
explosive atmosphere due to gases, vapors, mist or swirling dust –
but if they neverthe-
less did occur, then only rarely and for a short period of time within the meaning of the
ATEX Directive 2014/34/EU
– as holding brakes, as holding brakes with emergency stop
functionality, and as service brakes.
