Serial Interface

Serial Interface Connector

The system I/O panel provides a DB9P (9-pin male) connector with a nonstandard pinout.

A Null Modem is required for the Serial Interface.

The Serial Interface Does NOT support hardwire handshaking.

The Serial version does not transmit until it has a complete response message (a string
terminated by a line feed) to send to the Host.

The “message available” bit in the serial status byte is always sent as 0.

NOTES:

• allow a 50 mSec delay between commands.

• when using this configuration, take care not to overflow the 250 byte input buffer.
