Teleloop systems
Many places, such as theatres, houses of worship, and schools are equipped with teleloop
systems. When using a telecoil programme with teleloop systems, sound is picked up di-
rectly. If there is no sound from the hearing aids in a teleloop system and with a telecoil
programme activated, the teleloop system may not be turned on or is not operating cor-
rectly. If a facility is not equipped with a teleloop system, sitting as close as possible to the
front may be helpful.
Direct audio input (optional)
Use of direct audio input (DAI), which enables a direct connection of the hearing aids to items
such as television, radio, and remote microphones, may increase speech understanding for
some individuals. The sound source is connected to the hearing aids by a cable or a wireless
FM system to the audio boot. This accessory connects to the bottom of the hearing aids, and
once properly clicked into place, the hearing aids switch to DAI automatically.
