EN: Installation Sheet
Description
ATS1521N Two-way Audio Satellite is an audio device that is
used for audio alarm verification. Depending on the control
panel variant and firmware, there can be up to 32X ATS1521N
satellites installed in the protected premises and connected to
one Advisor Advanced panel with ATS1520 Two-way Audio
Module and ATS7700 PSTN Module installed.
Each ATS1521N Two-way Audio Satellite can have up to 3X
ATS1522N Two-way Audio Satellites connected to it.
The installer must have minimum qualifications as follow:
•
Basic knowledge of alarm systems and components
•
Basic knowledge of electrical wiring and low-voltage
electrical connections
Read this installation sheet and all relevant auxillary
documentation prior to installation.

Address DIP switch
DIP switch (Figure 1, item 7) sets the audio satellite address.
The device physical address is set by switches 1 to 5 as shown
in Figure 3.
BUS1 handles Audio device addresses 1 to 16, while BUS2
—
addresses 17 to 32. System address of an Audio device
connected to BUS2 is determined by adding 16 to the device
physical address.
For example, Audio 17 is the device on BUS2 with all switches
set to Off.
Note:
Cycle the device power supply to apply address
changes.
Jumpers
TERM jumper
Bus termination on
Bus termination off
(default setting)
If TEMR jumper is set to On, system databus is terminated on
the audio device.
There must be no more than two terminations set to On for any
bus. Refer to
Advisor Advanced Installation and Programming
Manual
for details about the use of bus termination.
LED jumper
Microphone LED
enabled (default
setting)
Microphone LED
disabled
If LED jumper is set to On, the microphone LED is enabled, so
it lights when the microphone is turned on. Refer to
Advisor
Advanced Installation and Programming Manual
for more
information about Listen-in.
TAMPER jumper
TAMPER jumper must be in the middle position (as
shown) to receive tamper signals from ATS1522N
slave audio satellites.
LEDs
Heartbeat LED
Heartbeat LED indicates the status of the ATS1521N satellite.
•
Slow flashing (1 Hz): The satellite is working but not
configured in ATS1520 two-way audio module.
•
Fast flashing: The satellite is configured in ATS1520 two-
way audio module and communicating.
Mounting
WARNING:
Electrocution hazard. To avoid personal injury or
death from electrocution, remove all sources of power and
allow stored energy to discharge before installing or removing
equipment.
Cut or drill a hole in the mounting surface for cable access.
Attach the base to mounting surface using four screws.
Caution:
For pry-off detection, use a screw with the provided
washer in the pry-off mounting hole (Figure 1, item 20).
