Installing the I/O Shield
The Deskt op Board com es w it h an I / O shield. When inst alled in t he chassis, t he shield
blocks radio fr equency t ransm issions, pr ot ect s int ernal com ponent s from dust and
for eign obj ect s, and prom ot es cor r ect airflow w it hin t he chassis.
I nst all t he I / O shield befor e inst alling t he Deskt op Board in t he chassis. Place t he
shield inside t he chassis as show n in Figure 5. Press t he shield int o place so t hat it fit s
t ight ly and securely. I f t he shield does not fit , obt ain a properly - sized shield from t he
chassis supplier.
