8. Turn on mains power. The green LED indicator should be lit indicating that the unit is
connected correctly and the battery is charging.
Emergency pack commissioning
1. Provide an uninterrupted mains power supply (permanent live) for 24 hours to fully charge
the unit’s batteries.
2. Check that the GREEN indicator LED light is lit. This confirms that the batteries are charging.
3. To test remove the mains supply - the unit will operate under battery power for 3 hours
minimum. The indicator LED on the front panel will now show RED, the luminaire is now in
Emergency Mode for operation.
4. Restore mains power to the unit, check the LED indicator shows green again and begins re-
charging.
5. Test the batteries every month and fully discharge them every 6 months and record the date
and duration and competent person who completed the test for the Fire Safety Regulations.
6. Ensure the installation is fully compliant with BS-5622-1 and the latest wiring regulations.
Self-Test Function
1. All full duration tests should be where possible be undertaken at times of low risk adjacent
emergency luminaires.
2. We recommend that you reset the inbuilt timer or run a manual 30 day test to stagger testing
times.
3. Once commissioned fill in the date of the first test/install date this will allow the end user to
monitor and record subsequent test information on the supplied report.
4. All tests with the exception of the visual inspection will be completed automatically including
battery charge condition and lamp status.
Warranty
This unit carries a three year warranty from date of purchase, providing it has been installed
correctly and not modified in any way. Should a fault occur please contact the original point of
purchase.
Important Notes
The luminaire must be operated within the temperature range defined and avoiding
extreme humidity.
Operation must be within rated voltage.
Keep away from strong electromagnetic radiation sources and protect from lightning
strike.
Should the unit malfunction, please return it to the distributor or reseller, never attempt
repair yourself.
Do not install the luminaire if any part is broken. Do not apply direct pressure to the
front lens.
The luminaire must be installed by a qualified electrician.
