Step 3: Attach the Wooden Brace
Prepare the wooden brace, two wood dowels, and one half of
the dowelling hardware, as shown above.
Slide the wooden brace onto the wood
dowels and post. Tighten the dowelling
hardware receiver onto the post with a
phillips head screwdriver.

Insert wooden dowels into the front leg of side frame as
shown, leaving the center hole for the post from the dowelling
hardware.
Screw the post in by hand, tighten slightly with a phillips head
screwdriver.
Take the round dowelling hardware receiver and loosen the
screw so that the through hole is clear for the post.
Insert the dowelling hardware receiver, with the through hole
perpendicular to the side and screwhead facing out, into
position on the wooden brace.
